Who a Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier is for
Copying signals by hand takes time, and mistakes creep in when you rush. A copier removes that step, so you can step away from the screen. It makes sense for traders who:
- follow one or more signal channels and miss entries at work or at night,
- enter signals by hand today and worry about wrong lots or stops,
- trade on MT4, MT5 or both platforms at once,
- have several accounts of their own and want each one sized by its own rules.
One rule never changes: we do not sell, provide or pick signals. The copier only reads channels you already follow, and it trades only in your own MT4 or MT5 accounts. So you stay responsible for what it copies.
How a Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier reads your channels
The copier logs in with your own Telegram account through Telegram’s official API. So it can read any channel or group you follow, even where you are not an admin. A bot could not do this, because only a channel’s admin can add a bot to it. You type the login code yourself during setup, and the session stays on your own machine. Our Telegram copier setup guide walks through each step.
Signals on WhatsApp or Discord?
Those apps work in a different way, so each one has its own tool. For WhatsApp groups, see our WhatsApp to MT4/MT5 copier. For Discord servers, the Discord to MT4/MT5 copier does the same job.
One copier for MT4 and MT5
The Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier has two parts. First, a small reader app reads the channel and parses each message. Then an Expert Advisor (EA) inside your terminal places and manages the trade. MT4 and MT5 cannot share one EA, so we write a separate EA for each:
- for MT4, we write the EA in MQL4 and hand over a compiled .ex4 file,
- for MT5, we write it in MQL5 and hand over a compiled .ex5 file.
The two platforms also handle trades in different ways. MT4 tracks each trade as one order ticket. MT5, on the other hand, splits each trade into orders, deals and positions. Some MT5 accounts also use netting, which merges all trades on a symbol into one position. So on a netting account, the EA closes part of that position at TP1 instead of opening two trades. The official MQL4 docs and MQL5 docs describe both trade models.
The reader stays the same for both platforms. As a result, one Telegram login can feed your MT4 account and your MT5 account side by side, each with its own lot rules.
How the parser reads a signal
The parser is the heart of a Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier. Every channel writes signals its own way, so we build the parser around yours. First, you send us 20 to 30 real messages from the channel. Then we map every pattern they use. Take this common format:
BUY XAUUSD 2350 SL 2340 TP1 2360 TP2 2370
The parser turns it into a gold buy, split into two halves. Half the lot aims for 2360 and the other half for 2370, with one stop at 2340 for both. It also copes with the usual variations:
- words and symbols such as “Gold buy now” or “XAU/USD”,
- entry zones like “BUY 2350-2345”, placed as a market or limit order by your choice,
- missing stops, where the copier applies your default SL or skips the trade,
- noise such as chart images, market comments and adverts, which it ignores.
Message edits: move SL, close half
Providers often update a trade after they post it. A Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier links each follow-up to the original trade:
- “Move SL to entry” moves the stop to break-even,
- “Close half” closes 50% of the open lots,
- “TP1 hit” can trigger your own rule, such as moving the rest to break-even,
- an edited entry price updates the pending order instead of opening a second one.
When a reply is unclear, the copier logs it and sends you an alert instead of guessing.
Seven copy rules you control
A Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier should follow your plan, not the channel’s. So you set these rules, and you can change them at any time:
- Lot mode: a fixed lot, or a percent of balance risked to the stop.
- Lot cap: a maximum lot size per trade, whatever the signal says.
- Open trade limit: no new trades once you hold a set number.
- Symbol map: channel names to broker names, such as XAUUSD to XAUUSD.m or US30 to DJ30.
- Trading hours: skip signals outside the hours you choose.
- Price distance: skip an entry when price has already moved too far.
- Signal age: ignore messages older than your limit, for example two minutes.
Before each order, the EA also checks your broker’s lot step and minimum stop distance. If a stop sits too close to price, it alerts you rather than change your numbers. With several channels, each one can carry its own set of rules.
PC or VPS?
Your Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier needs two things running: the Telegram reader and your MT4 or MT5 terminal. On a home PC, both work while the PC is on and online. If the PC sleeps, signals pile up in Telegram and may reach the copier late. That is why the signal age rule matters, since it stops stale entries. A VPS keeps both parts running all day, which suits channels that post at night.
How we set up your Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier
Choose. You share the channel names, a batch of real messages, your platform and your copy rules.
Configure. Next, we tune the parser to your channel’s format. Then we set up the EA that places and manages each order: MQL4 for MT4, MQL5 for MT5.
Test. Signals have no price history to replay, so we test in two passes. First, we run your saved messages through the parser and check every result. Then the copier runs live on your demo account while the channel posts.
Go live. Finally, we install the reader and the EA with you on your PC or VPS, then hand over the files. Our custom EA development process page shows how we schedule each stage.
What you receive
Your delivery includes:
- the reader app for Telegram, set up for your channels,
- the compiled EA for your platform: .ex4 for MT4 or .ex5 for MT5,
- your parser profile, tuned to the formats your channels use,
- one settings guide for mapping, lots and filters,
- a setup walkthrough on your own machine,
- [X] days of fixes after delivery,
- source code (.mq4 or .mq5), if you chose that option.
Safe delivery and your privacy
Every Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier we deliver starts as a trial on demo. The trial build works on your demo account only, with an optional end date. So you watch real channel signals turn into demo trades before you pay the balance. After the final payment, the live version replaces the trial, along with source code if you chose it.
Your Telegram session stays on your machine. We never ask for your Telegram password, and the copier only reads the chats you select.
Telegram to MT4/MT5 copier pricing
A ready copier for one Telegram channel with one message format costs $150, on MT4 or MT5. Extra channels, more formats, a second platform and complex edit handling cost more. Once we see your sample messages, you get a fixed quote in USD. The expert advisor development cost page lists typical ranges, and you can send your samples through our contact page.
Do you trade several accounts of your own? Our MT4/MT5 trade copier links a master account to the others. If your signals come from TradingView alerts, the TradingView to MT4/MT5 copier fits better. For prop firm challenges, a prop firm risk manager can add daily loss limits on top. Telegram documents the user API this copier relies on in its official Telegram API docs.
